Website Terms

These terms apply to everyone who visits othermile.com or uses its free tools: the border fee checker, the duty guides, border news, and the public API and MCP server without an account. Nagi Consulting Group Inc. of Calgary, Alberta operates the site ("we", "us"). By using the site, you agree to these terms. Businesses with an account are also covered by our Terms of Service.
Information only
The checker, guides, border news and everything else on the site give general information and estimates based on public government data, which we read automatically and show with its date. They may be incomplete, out of date or wrong for your situation. The amount you actually pay is decided by customs authorities, carriers and sellers.
Nothing on the site is customs, tax, legal or financial advice, and you should not rely on it as such. Confirm important decisions with the seller, the carrier, a licensed customs broker or the relevant authority.
Reports you send
If you tell us what you were charged at the door, send only the details the form asks for, and do not include names, addresses or other personal information. We may use reports in combined form to improve estimates and to publish statistics.
Using our content and data
You may view, share and link to our pages, and use the public border news and estimates for your own purposes, including in your own products, as long as you credit Othermile with a link to the source and do not suggest we endorse you. You may not copy the site in bulk, present our content as your own, use it to mislead anyone, or use the site in a way that harms it or other people, including by getting around request limits, testing it for weaknesses without our permission, or sending automated traffic that slows it down. The Othermile name and logo belong to us.
Security researchers: please report problems to info@othermile.com (see our security.txt) and give us reasonable time to fix them before sharing details.

Links to government and other sites are there for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for them.
No warranties and limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the site and its content are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using or relying on the site, including duties, taxes, fees or charges you pay. Where the law does not allow us to exclude liability, our total liability is limited to 100 Canadian dollars.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect when you use the site. In short: no advertising cookies, Google Analytics cookies only if you accept them, and our own visitor statistics that cannot identify you.
Changes and law
We may change the site and these terms at any time; the version posted here applies from its date. The laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there govern these terms, and the courts in Calgary, Alberta have jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to go to court there.
